Ecorches is in the heart of Normandy close to Vimoutiers (10km) and Trun (4km). 

It is in the south of the Pays d’Auge, a region reminiscent of the Somerset countryside. 

The area is renowned for its cheese and cider making and traditional timbered-framed buildings.
